Batman: Arkham Origins to feature multiplayer – report
The third game in the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Origins, will be the first to contain a multiplayer mode, according to a report.
The game will feature a multiplayer that will allow players to take control of villains, claims Kotaku.
The report cites “two independent sources”, one of which had apparently previously offered a pre-reveal tip on the game’s ‘Origin’ title and Christmas theme, which turned out to be accurate.
According to the report, at least one multiplayer mode will have players take control of members of Bane or Joker’s gangs, tasked with killing Batman and Robin.
Villains featured reportedly include Killer Croc, Deadshot, Firefly, Black Mask, Deathstroke, and “some kind of Electroman character” – possibly Electrocutioner.
It’s unclear if Batman/Robin will be player- or CPU-controlled. Warner Bros. declined to comment on the report.
Warner has confirmed the Batman: Arkham Origins release date as October 25 for Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. A spin-off title, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, has also been announced for 3DS and PS Vita.
