New Need for Speed, NBA Live On the Way
11 new EA games planned between now and March 2014.
EA has revealed that 11 new titles are headed to consoles and PC during its 2014 fiscal year (which began on April 1, 2013 and will run through March 31, 2014).
In a call reporting earnings for EA’s 2013 fiscal year, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said that in addition to announced games including Battlefield 4, Madden 25, FIFA 14, NCAA Football 2014, NHL 14 and The Sims 4, other upcoming games include new entries in the NBA Live and Need for Speed franchises.
“We’re very focused on getting into the NBA business in a significant way this year,” Gibeau said during a Q&A later in the call. He also confirmed that more details will be coming at E3 2013 in June.
Beyond the 11 console and PC games, EA will also release 15 new mobile games during the fiscal year, including Plants vs Zombies 2 and “a new game from the Bejeweled team.”
Previously, NBA Live 13 was canceled, and an NBA Live title has not been released since NBA Live 10 in 2009.
A next-gen Need for Speed, meanwhile, was outed by job listings in October.
For now, we’re not sure exactly what other titles EA will reveal, but we do know Respawn Entertainment’s first game will appear at E3, and you can expect any other announcements to come at EA’s E3 press conference, which will take place on Monday, June 10th.
