Full Details: Translated by iNero on GTAForums:

- they played the Xbox Version
- it looks like in the Trailers only with more aliasing
- no stuttering at all during the 3 hour playthrough
- every Officer and Police Car has its own search circle. In GTA4 there was only 1 big circle
- sprinting is like in IV
- normal walk is very slow which helps moving in buildings
- a car had a petrol track and when they did shoot at it, the car exploded
- checkpoints are set very well
- SUV handles way harder than a Sportscar
- Lamar works with Franklin Repo
- in one Mission they drove a Train themselfes ( hopefully in Free Roam too)
- Sniper can be upgraded with Thermo Scope which can be activated on the run
- they did fly under a bridge and a “1 out of 50″ bridges prompt did appear
- Health regens 50% only, you have to look for Health packs or eat something
- cutscenes work fluid. like when going in a marker there is no short balckscreen, instead the camera goes cinematic. same goes for the end of the cutscenes.

I’m just too excited for this. For me GTA is something like a Linkin Park song, it’s crawling in my skin the game she must be played.

are there really THAT many locations in the game that Rockstar Games thought 50 bridges were necessary?

    • JuneBug81

I guess we’ll see, but given that it’s the size of GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and San Andreas combined, and given that they’re trying to create substantive variety between the different areas of the city, I think it’s conceivable.

I mean, in an average large city if you count small bridges, there can easily be hundreds.

      • Nintendo Fan 4 Lif3

Yeah, I suppose so. Either way, though I won’t get this right away, the game sounds exciting nonetheless. Wonder what other surprises Rockstar has that they can’t show or talk about until the game releases.

You actually just made my brain explode slightly. This may sound stupid, but because of everything else they’ve advertised, I forgot about the prospect of the unexpected!

I mean, this is already a GTA game with:

          Skydiving
          Scuba diving
          Submarines
          Mountains
          Hunting
          Racing
          Golf
          Heist planning
Switching between 3 playable characters who go on living their lives when we’re not using them
          A size 3.5 x that of RDR
          Trains
          Stunt jumps
50 bridges to find and fly under
          An AI controlled dog NPC
          Lightning strikes
          Property purchasing
          Home and character customization
          Weapon upgrades
          Player character levels and skills
Arguably more environmental variety than any Rockstar game to date
A separate online game with a progression system, homes to own, a stock market to play, and on and on and on.

The idea that there could be – and in all likelihood is – MORE that we haven’t been told yet? That blows my mind! It was already unprecedented as it was.

But you’re probably right. There are very likely surprises in store, and that’s just crazy when you really consider the achievement the game already is without even having played it!

I typically avoid getting myself hyped up for games these days, but even my lowest possible expectations for GTA V are already met and exceeded just with what we already know.

Yeah Rockstar Games is gonna make history again and leave a greater impact than what they did with GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption; never played th latter though :-(

          • JuneBug81

If you have any interest in it, I still recommend it even today. Still looks great graphically despite the little bit of time that’s passed, and the game is possibly my game of the gen personally.

wait, did this article just report that the most interesting new information about GTA 5 is that there are more than 50 bridges in the game? I honestly don’t know how to process this.

  • JuneBug81

Well, “big” is sort of relative. No game yet made is as large as Daggerfall. And Fuel was the largest console game ever made.

Look at it this way: it’s an open world devoid of tall buildings with not much but desert and cacti as far as the eye can see, traversable by horseback, and yet still feels pretty immense and is divided by a massive river.

I’d call that big, but it’s not as large as, say, Just Cause 2.

Sufficed to say, GTA V will be the largest Rockstar game any of us have played, and that’s pretty damned big no matter what.
