The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Will Be A Single Player Game Only, CDPR Explains Multiple Endings
Great news for all The Witcher fans as CDPR confirmed that the third and last part of Geralt’s adventures will be a single player game only, and that the company does not intend to add any kind of multiplayer modes at all.
That was revealed in an interview with Forbes. As CD Projekt stated:
“The game will be an epic, story driven, single player, open world RPG experience. We strongly feel that this final saga of Geralt has no place for meaningful multiplayer.”
One of the key features of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is its multiple endings, however those endings may not be what you have in mind.
According to Forbes, The Witcher 3 will feature three main epilogues, however there will be a number of summaries, describing what the player has achieved. In other words, the endings that CDPR advertised are not ‘real’ endings with cut-scenes, graphics and glorious visuals. Given that they are summaries, they will be most probably be similar to the text/image summaries of Dragon Age and Mass Effect 3.
As Tomaszkiewicz said:
“After you finish your epilogue you also get a summary of the biggest consequences of the choices you made in the game. Some of them will show changes in political situation of the world, some of them will show changes in local situation of places you visited. Others will show changes in the lives of your friends or enemies. And when we talk about those multiple endings, that’s exactly what we mean. Depending on the choices you make, you can leave a completely different world behind you once you finish your adventure.”
Again, the key word here is ‘summaries’. Yes, there will be multiple endings but those endings are not what you have in mind, so it’s better to be ready about it, otherwise you might get disappointed.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned for a 2014 release on PC, PS4 and other next-generation consoles!
